PDO Thread Therapy

PDO threads are tiny synthetic surgical sutures made of polydioxanone. In aesthetic services, they can be used for a wide variety of purposes. At Koch Aesthetic Dentistry, specifically, we use PDO Smoothing Threads.

Solid Filler PDO smooth thread therapy is a technique that stimulates natural collagen production while offering an immediate lift to facial areas plagued by lines and wrinkles. It can increase facial volume and can also help improve lip and smile lines. These tiny threads can be used in conjunction with dermal fillers, solid filler lifting PDO threads and botulinum toxin injections, or they can be used as a standalone service.

PDO Smoothing Threads are used to repair and tighten the skin. This type of treatment helps reduce wrinkles or crepey skin by replacing and adding collagen and elastin back into the skin. It helps repair damaged areas and encourages new collagen production. This means you’ll see more natural results by stimulating those biological processes.

After a PDO Thread treatment, there’s not an extensive list of aftercare or maintenance you need to complete. In general, you should avoid dental treatments, getting facials, high-intensity exercising, and exfoliation for a few weeks after your treatment. Additionally, you should avoid putting too much pressure or strain on one side of your face. This means you may want to sleep on your back for a while.
