Your Birmingham Cosmetic Dentist

Affordable Mountain Brook Cosmetic DentistryAll relationships are important. Especially your relationship with your Birmingham dentist.

Did your last Birmingham dentist cause you fear, guilt and pain? Perhaps you quit seeing your dentist because you hated going and he/she loved making you wait. Was your previous Birmingham cosmetic dentist insensitive to your concerns? Was he/she a poor communicator? Perhaps you have simply moved into the Birmingham area and need a new provider.

I am Dr. J. Paul Koch of Koch Aesthetic Dentistry in Birmingham. I understand that many patients are nervous (okay – downright terrified) about dental visits. I also realize that no client wants to be given a shameful lecture about their oral health.

Though I have years of experience and extensive training on all the latest cosmetic dentistry procedures, there are some things that can’t be learned in dental school; how to build trusting relationships with your patients and create a relaxed atmosphere in your dental practice. I understand that Birmingham dental clients can feel very vulnerable as they lie in the chair with their mouth open. My staff and I maintain a friendly environment in our pleasant office. We manage our practice carefully to minimize waiting and provide ample time for each valued patient.

Effective communication is a priority. I make sure my Birmingham dentistry patients understand their restorative and cosmetic options and answer all their questions before we develop a treatment plan.

If you are currently seeking a considerate, experienced, and sensitive Birmingham dentist, I look forward to meeting you. My phone number is 205-202-8618. You can learn more about me at http://www.kochaesthetics.com/meetdrkoch.htm

Looking For A Dentist In Birmingham

Looking for a dentist in Birmingham is sometimes simply a matter of word of mouth. The most common way for people to find a dentist in a new area such as Birmingham is to ask a friend or neighbor. ‘Who is your dentist?’ is a common question. The answer is usually followed up with an explanation about whether or not your friend likes their dentist or not, and whether they would recommend their Birmingham dentist to a friend.

I am Dr. J. Paul Koch, and I am a Doctor serving the Birmingham Alabama community as a licensed Doctor. We call our practice ‘Koch Aesthetic Dentistry’, and we welcome new patients from the Mountain Brook area.

If you are new to the Mountain Brook area and are looking for a Birmingham dentist, please come by my dentist office in Birmingham, Alabama. I will be happy to spend some time with you to get to know you, and to introduce you to our professional care office staff who are passionate about your smile and your comfort.

Choosing A Dentist In Birmingham

The American Dental Association offers some welcome advice for choosing a dentist in Birmingham. We have already talked about how word of mouth is an important factor in how many people find a dentist. Here are some things you should look for in an Birmingham dentist:

Location is always a factor when choosing a dentist in Birmingham. If you live in the Birmingham, Alabama area, there are many options, and most locations are not too far out of the way. While location plays an important role in convenience, many people are willing to drive a little farther for a better experience with their Birmingham dentist.

Relationship is a strong factor. Your Birmingham dentist should be approachable, and should make you feel comfortable when you are in the dentist chair. After all, your dentist will be working very close with you to help you achieve a high level of oral hygiene; you most certainly will want to have a good, professional, comfortable relationship with your Birmingham dentist and the dental office staff.

Specialty is another important factor in choosing a dentist in Birmingham. Some dentists specialize in cosmetic dentistry. Others specialize in corrective dentistry such as braces. Depending on your need, you may select a local Birmingham dentist who can solve your immediate concern. Bare in mind, however, that it is good to have a general dentist who can maintain your dental history and work with you to through the years.

If you are looking for a dentist in Birmingham, please come by and speak with me. I can address your interest in any of these critical areas, and will be happy to introduce you to Koch Aesthetic Dentistry.

I look forward to meeting you.

Koch Aesthetic Dentistry in Birmingham

Koch Aesthetic Dentistry in Birmingham Hello! I’m Dr. J. Paul Koch, DMD, of Koch Aesthetic Dentistry in Birmingham.

I have been practicing general and cosmetic dentistry since 2000. Dentistry is a challenging and fascinating profession; dentists must have diagnostic skills, dexterity, extensive scientific knowledge, and good visual memory. Dentistry also requires artistic ability. In addition to the technical aspects of dentistry, I really enjoy interacting with my Birmingham dental patients.

I recognize that my clients have other choices in Mountain Brook area dental practices, and I work continually to earn their trust and surpass their expectations.

Each dentistry client is unique. Many of my patients come in twice-yearly for an exam and cleaning. We help them maintain excellent oral health. Some cosmetic dentistry clients come to me seeking major restorative dental work. It is extremely gratifying to complete a smile makeover and see the client’s reaction when they see the result for the first time.

When I have a pre-treatment consultation with a new dentistry client, it is very informative for both of us. The patient learns the specifics about the possible procedures and I learn about the clients’ goals, concerns and expectations. Then I work with the client to develop a dental treatment plan that fits the patient’s needs, desired outcome and budget.

My dental practice is located at 2311 Highland Avenue, Suite 323, in Birmingham, AL. If you are looking for an experienced dentist in the Birmingham area, call 205-202-8618 to schedule a consultation.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Birmingham Tooth Whitening

Patients often come into our Birmingham, Alabama dental practice and complain about ‘a toothache the size of Mountain Brook’. I understand this kind of pain, and realize that when you describe it like that, it really hurts. I can help.

Tooth ache pain for anyone in Birmingham can be unbearable. At the very least, toothache pain can cause you to avoid eating certain foods, certain temperatures, and even talking. Severe toothache pain can be downright debilitating, forcing patients to go to extreme measures to alleviate the pain.

Around Birmingham, the most common causes of a tooth ache include tooth infection, decay, injury, and loss of a tooth. Tooth pain can also occur after a tooth has been extracted, or after an oral surgery involving anything from a tooth or your jawbone.

I can help you better understand the source of your tooth ache pain, and in most cases can provide a nearly immediate remedy. In severe cases, we are equipped to council you on a variety of resolutions.

Of course, the best way to avoid tooth ache pain is to visit your Birmingham dentist often, and to care properly for your teeth including the regular regimen of brushing and flossing.

If you are experiencing tooth ache pain, and just can’t stand it any more, please give me a call; I am standing by to help.

Your Alabama Dentist And Cleaning Your Teeth

Alabama is known for its beautiful smiles, and our local Birmingham community is no exception. Keeping your teeth clean is an important factor in maintaining your beautiful Birmingham smile. One of the benefits of regularly visiting your local Birmingham Alabama dentist is a thorough teeth cleaning and a review of your brushing habits.

Our Birmingham dental hygienist helps you keep your teeth clean by assessing the condition of your teeth, and recommending improvements to your daily teeth cleaning habits. I am a and I work at Koch Aesthetic Dentistry located in the state of Alabama. We specialize in smile restoration in the Birmingham, Alabama community, including the surrounding areas of Vestavia Hills, Crestline and Homewood.

Cleaning your teeth in Alabama is the simple task of removing plaque (a sticky deposit that gets left on teeth in which bacteria thrives) and tartar (a calcium deposit that forms on teeth and aids in tooth decay). This is done by brushing regularly with a toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste, and flossing. Brushing and flossing at least twice each day can keep plaque and tartar from building up on your teeth and results in cleaner, healthier teeth. A regular visit to your local Birmingham dental hygienist will help you stay on top of problems that can go unseen.

The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends visiting your local Birmingham, Alabama dentist at least once every 6 months for a regular dental check up and teeth cleaning. These regular visits to your Alabama dentist potentially prevent the undetected development of problems that can occur from neglecting to clean your teeth.

To keep that beautiful Birmingham Alabama smile in good shape, come in for a dental check up and teeth cleaning.

Call Koch Aesthetic Dentistry in Birmingham, Alabama to make an appointment. You can reach us right now at 205-202-8618.

Bad Breath Is No Fun For Birmingham Residents

Bad Breath Is No Fun For Birmingham Residents

Imagine you are starting a new job in Birmingham and meeting your new boss for the first time. Confidence is key to your success. As you reach out to shake the extended hand your broad confident smile exposes rows of pearly white teeth, yet when you open your mouth to exchange greetings you worry about bad breath. Perhaps your breath is not as a pleasant as you had hoped. Bad breath is a worry and possible embarrassment for many residents of Birmingham, Alabama, from ages 12 to 95. Regular dental checkups at Koch Aesthetic Dentistry can help alleviate your concern over bad breath. We have been addressing bad breath for the past 10 years.

The technical term for bad breath is halitosis. Many factors can cause or contribute to halitosis. One of these factors is the food you eat. Onions and garlic are both known for having a potent affect on your breath. Simply observing the foods you eat here in Birmingham can result in a change in your breath.

In most cases, bad breath originates in your mouth. Transient bad breath can be resolved through eating or brushing, and is a temporary condition usually associated with a dry mouth. Persistent bad breath can be a serious problem effecting as much as 25 percent of our Birmingham residents. Persistent bad breath can be caused by dry mouth, and is made worse when food is not cleared away properly.

Brushing and flossing daily is a critical step in curing bad breath. Food particles can build up in your mouth and foster bacteria which can cause bad breath. This not only includes the food particles that may get stuck between your teeth, but also the food that collects around your gums or on your tongue. Brushing and flossing daily can help reduce the amount of food particles that stay in your mouth and cause bad breath. Regular visits to Koch Aesthetic Dentistry in Birmingham can also reduce or eliminate the progression of bad breath.

Other factors that can contribute to bad breath for Birmingham residents include dry mouth, tobacco use, and health concerns such as infections. Come visit Koch Aesthetic Dentistry located in Birmingham, Alabama; we’ll provide you with information about bad breath in a professional environment. Give us a call at 205-202-8618 to set up an appointment.

Find A Dentist

Friday, December 4th, 2009

There are a lot of places to look for a dentist, but its not always easy to find a dentist in Birmingham.

It used to be that in Birmingham you could find a dentist just by walking down to the corner of the street. Like many small towns, there would be a dentist on the corner of ‘north and main’, just up from the fire house, and across from the bakery.

Today, finding a dentist around Birmingham can take a little more time, and a little more effort. Our local Birmingham community is spread out a little more, and there is more than one option for finding a local dentist in Birmingham.

Let’s look at a few of the ways to find a local dentist in Birmingham:

The old timers among us still reach for the yellow pages when we look to find a dentist in our local Birmingham community. This is still a quick way to get a good list of local Birmingham dentists.

Studies are showing an ever increasing number of Birmingham consumers are turning to their Internet connection to find a dentist. To find a dentist online can mean more than just a name and a phone number; many dentists, like us, have additional information on their website that will help you gain a better understanding of their practice and the services they provide.

Many people find a dentist in the Birmingham community through printed mailers and flyers that come to your door. Birmingham dentists spend a lot of money on these types of flyers, which can often carry a discount opportunity or special promotion.

The most popular method used to find a local dentist? …Word of mouth. Studies have shown that people are more willing to listen to a family member or close friend when it comes to finding a local Birmingham dentist.

We understand this last point, and make it our job to keep our patients happy, healthy, informed and comfortable during their visit to the dentist. We know if you leave happy, your friends and family in the Birmingham area will hear about us, too.

If you are looking for a dentist in Birmingham, please give us a call. You can reach us at 205-202-8618.

If you know a friend who is trying to find a dentist in the Birmingham area, please pass our name along. We look forward to seeing you both!
